Goshen, IN - May 15, 2008 – HAIKU Learning Systems, Inc. President, Allen Angell, and co-founder Bryan Falcón will travel to San Francisco, CA where their on-demand learning management software will be showcased at the Software & Information Industry Association’s (SIIA) Ed Tech Industry Summit May 18-20.
Angell and Falcón will be participating in the Innovation Incubator program, which promotes developers of innovative educational technology programs or services. Participants will be recognized at the Innovation Showcase and Welcome Reception on Sunday night, May 18, and again at the Business Profiles Session on Tuesday afternoon, May 20. Each is an opportunity to explore partnerships with established Ed Tech companies.
Falcón has also been invited as a panel presenter on the topic, “Developing for Transition: Building Learning, Teaching, and Management Tools,” on Monday, May 19. The panel will focus on the impact of technology on today’s classrooms, and how educators can create efficient learning environments with non-traditional tools. Other panelists include Sari Follansbee, owner of EdTech Design Associates, Jeff Schultz, Vice President of McGraw Hill Education, and Isaac Segal, President and Chief Executive Officer of Tegrity. Todd Brekhus, VP of Product and Market Management at PLATO Learning will act as moderator.
Angell and Falón will also be traveling to San Antonio, TX for the 29th annual National Education Computing Conference (NECC) June 29 – July 2. This will be the second year HAIKU has attended the conference where more than 18,000 teachers, technology coordinators, library media specialists, teacher educators, administrators, policy makers, industry representatives, and students from all over the world are expected. HAIKU can be found this year at booth 5030.
HAIKU Learning Systems, Inc. was founded in 2006 by Angell and Falcón, and has developed haiku LMS, a web 2.0 application for K12 schools, higher ed institutions, distance learners and corporate trainers. The on-demand software empowers educators to create online lessons with articles, images, audio, video and more. Educators and trainers can manage discussions, auto-grade assessments, track scores through a Gradebook and even take attendance. Demand for Learning Management Software is on the rise, particularly in K12 education and distance learning markets.
