haiku LMS is a young, startup company.  We have great aspirations, but we are also focused on embodying the 'harmony, simplicity and community' that we chose as our tagline.  We come from a liberal arts background, and are thus grounded in our desire to contribute to the world of education that has given so much to us.

Interested in knowing more about our team?  Then continue on, good reader.

Allen Angell

President

Allen Angell has nearly 20 years of experience in technology sales, marketing and executive management.  After 6 years as Vice President of Sales for an education industry Web development firm, Allen founded HAIKU Learning Systems in 2006.

When not meeting with clients and partners or running the daily operations for HAIKU, Allen enjoys the regular challenges and fleeting satisfaction that only a round of golf can provide.

Bryan Rafael Falcón

Operations & Product Manager

Bryan Rafael Falcón has nearly 15 years of experience in educational technology, and teaches occasionally at the college level.  He continues to consult and manage large technology for schools and districts, as well as overseeing the development of haiku LMS.

HAIKU Learning Systems is the second startup in which Bryan has participated.  He also holds an MFA in Directing, is involved regularly in running a local theater and participates in the occasional filmmaking project.

Reynard Hilman

Senior Developer

Prior to haiku, Reynard has had nearly 5 years of experience in developing web applications for large school districts as well as various e-commerce sites. He also has a penchant in graphic and interface design and is obsessed to make haiku the best LMS.

Reynard claims to get most of his inspiration from playing violin and piano and enjoying the beautiful Indiana outdoors. ;)

Marcos Wright Kuhns

Developer

Marcos is the greenest member of HAIKU, joining the team after graduating from college in 2006. Motivated by years of making due with mediocre LMS systems at school he's ready to make online education easier for students and teachers alike. While previous internships and freelance work has provided him with a background in a variety of programing languages, Marcos has come to love programing in Ruby on Rails at HAIKU.

In his spare time Marcos enjoys being creative with photography & graphic design, lending a hand with various open-source projects and just enjoying newly-married life.

The haiku LMS "Brain Trust"

The following volunteers have shared generously of their time and expertise to help further the cause of haiku LMS.  We wish to acknowledge them here.
