Using Haiku LMS

In many strange ways
Haiku reminds me of home
“WELCOME to this SPACE!”

haiku LMS reminds me of a HOME…..a place to be shared with others.

As each class is developed, I feel as though it’s being built so a specific audience will visit it, feel they can navigate it easily, stay as long as they want, & enjoy their visit enough to return again & again! The message I want to convey to members of the classes, workshops, or resource sites is simply “Welcome to this SPACE!” I’ve heard that the strongest, impression of any space come from its initial, visual impact. I believe this is true whether a room or a website! As with my real house, I need to be a “housekeeper” periodically. In doing that, I go to each room & check to see if I need to clean, move, or add content. Sometimes I even change the color scheme! As I work with Haiku, I find myself doing the same thing: periodically viewing the classes to do any necessary “housekeeping”.

Is the layout the best it can be?
Will the participants understand the content the way it’s presented?
Should any changes be made?

Because there are so many options for skins, or backgrounds (including 14 NEW ones), layouts, fonts, font size, and color, with a click of the mouse, changes can be made to further enhance the “look” of the class.

haiku LMS is a great place to visit, to share, & to revisit, time and time again. And….as new features are added, it’s becomes even more inviting! If I were to give any advice to future users it would simply be to:

Build a site with both the content and its visual impact in mind then invite your class, department, organization, or professional learning community to join you!
