I supervise a group of business students that manage/operate a coffee shop on campus as part of their business course work. One of my biggest challenges when a new group of managers begins their experience is finding an efficient way to keep the managers connected to each other on a daily basis.
The current management team has begun using haiku LMS as their primary tool for communicating with each other. Each manager uses the discussion board to post their task priorities for the week and to receive comments from other managers regarding various projects. This keeps the managers from getting lost in their own task area detail and focused on the team’s goals in between the weekly management team meeting. One of biggest benefits of this system is the access that new managers have to the previous team’s discussions, challenges, and achievements. The management team is also using haiku LMS to post articles from industry magazines for future managers, links to vendors, and to schedule and coordinate special events.
