Why is it required that the posted date of an assignment is displayed on the class calendar?  I would like to post assignments only, without the clutter of the often-irrelevant posting date.

Good note.  Our design is that the posted date is in effect an "assigned date" which gives you the option of assigning homework at any particular point in the future (or the past) if you wish.  This can be handy for teachers creating calendars well in advance of the time they are assigned.  However, I see your point, and that this  additional date could get in the way.

We currently have it defaulting to the current date, but we could also have it default to "no date" which would both serve those who wish to bypass the posted date while not strippping functionality from those who use it.  I'll bring this up to our design team, and you may see new behavior in the near future.

Sounds good -- I think it's a good feature that should stay in; I'd just like to be able to choose to use it!  Thanks.
