Interested?

We are pleased that you are considering designing skins for haiku LMS, which we consider the fastest, most intuitive way to build a K12 classroom environment on the internet today. We are excited by what haiku LMS is becoming and we hope you can join us by bringing your design skills to haiku.

Send your skins (as a zip file) to bryanf@haikuls.com and we'll look at what you've made. If it fits haiku's mission to serve K12 teachers and students, we'll include it in our skins library and list your name and website (if desired) in the skin credits.

Contact us if you are interested in getting the latest version of the designer's pack.

It includes a sample of our skin.css and skin.js files, some sample images and example HTML pages.

We would like for you to design using only CSS and images. You may, however, modify the javascript functions in the skin.js file. The HTML pages and "sample_only" images are only there to test your design for compatibility with haiku LMS standard content and should not be modified. You may also create three "preview" images for your skin, placing them in the images directory.

Requirements:

We would like to see as much CSS1 as possible. CSS2 should be limited to widely-supported elements only. haiku LMS needs to be visible by 98% of the public which means your styles need to work with the following browsers.

We require that your CSS validates.

We would also like for the designs to be visible by users of 800x600 resolution and higher.

The haiku LMS logo must be displayed on every page. You may change the colors of the logo to match your skin. Several versions of our logo (including Gimp & Photoshop layered files) can be found in the resources folder.

We ask that you submit original artwork. Please respect copyright laws.

Please keep objectionable material to a minimum as this is intended for the K12 environment.
